I don't know where the comment went, but when you said "dress warm" for the rally you weren't kidding. I wore a ski jacket that has a summer jacket embedded within, the thickest hoodie I own which usually on it's own keeps you warm down to about 20F, a t shirt, and a wife beater under that, a scarf, toque to go under the hoodie, snow pants with linings, jeans, long johns, and the worlds thickest socks (seriously, they are so hot, I don't like wearing them if I have to go inside they get soooo hot) in my hiking boots, and at no point was I like "I am hot I should unzip my coat". Next year, I will be attempting to wear even MORE clothes!!!
Honestly man I probably had about 7-8 pounds of clothes on.
